For
each book I publish I use black and white
artwork on the front and back covers. I
am always seeking new artists to collaborate
with!
Please
e-mail me 1 or 2 jpg samples of your work
(black and white only) or refer me to a
website where your art is posted.
I won't be using any of the samples you
send me. I just need to see what your art

Art
Specifications
a)
Please scan your sample drawing in JPG format.
I don't have a scanner.
b)
The art must be black and white. No colour.
I have a black and white lazer printer. The
artwork must be hand drawn.
c)
A white or very light gray backgroud is
best. Avoid large sections with dark
shading in your drawings. Dark backgrounds
don't transfer that well onto the double
gloss cardstock I use for my covers.
d)
Your drawing MUST be a portrait (not landscape)
so it will fit between the title and the
author name. The dimensions for your image
should be 6 inches tall by 4 or 5 inches
wide.

would suggest surfing my website (www.cryjustice.com)
to see what kind of art I have used for
my books. If you go to Amazon.com you can
also see them "Full Size" by clicking
on the covers.
f)
Please don't design the text for the front
or back cover. Just send me the JPG
image and I will import it into my cover
design. However, if you really want to design
the front cover, let me know and I might
be open to your suggestions.

1) What's in it
for me as an artist?
I will pay you $10.00 for your drawing,
and print your name, e-mail, and website
address on page #1 of the book. If you have
a website, I will add a link to your site.
I will mail you one free copy of the book.
I
currently have 3,000 copies of my books
in circulation. When you do a cover for
me, think of it as free advertising for
you as an artist! This is great exposure
for you as an artist and may lead to other
artistic opportunities.
2)
Who owns the rights to the drawing on your
cover?
You the artist own the rights to your own
art, and can reprint it in any other format
you wish. However, I have the right
to use the art in my book for as long as
it remains in print.
