DEAR
MR. SELLERS
(c) by Alex Baratta
Practically born on stage, you were the boy who
yearned to play
So many roles and make the people laugh
A joy deep down inside, one you couldn't hide
That only came when you were someone else
And it didn't take long for your genius to be recognised
But no one really knew you, even when you'd died
Dear Mr. Sellers
I wish the world had known you better
But you played the act so well
And they could never tell
That the funny man they saw
Was living a life of hell
Dear Mr. Sellers
I wish things could have been much better
But you made them laugh so hard
And they thought you were laughing too
But when they saw the man on the stage
They just weren't seeing you
Verse 2
The pain kept coming fast, so you looked for a new
mask
To hide the face, that no one really saw
Like a child without a toy, you were just a little
boy
Searching for someone you could hold onto
But there were times when the tears made way for
laughter
And maybe now somewhere, you've found the happiness
you were after
KILLING
PETER SELLERS
by Anderson Evans
A
man seems to wink
and I laugh at his loss comparing it to mine own.
I know he's a villain, and
I know he's a joke.
A
doppelganger really.
What's wrong with his heart?
Who might have adopted a boy
with the voice of a line less structured?
I
never give answers
to questions never asked.
I always left that to
the car crashes heard in our hospital
by the mad one.
And
pink beast lanky, smooth
smokes.
smokes.
smokes.
And
all the while she declares that I'm nothing.
I love her for understanding that.
LOVING
PETER SELLERS
by Brian J Webb
I fell in love with Peter Sellers, when I was just
a kid
He could always make me laugh, no matter what he
did.
I loved him in 'The Lady Killers' as he led me 'Up
The Creek'
The laughter just kept coming, until my knees were
weak.
I loved him in the 'Goon Show' on my radio at night
He made me laugh in 'Im All Right Jack' as the loveable
Fred Kite.
He found his 'Millionairess' but that was not to
be
I loved it when I heard them sing 'Well Goodness
Gracious Me.'
He took me on 'A Two Way Stretch' every single day
I loved him as he played the game, that 'Only Two
Can Play.'
He played the reverened Smallwood, so well in 'Heavens
Above'
I loved him as the President as well as 'Dr Strangelove.'
Peter was like 'The Pink Panther,' a very precious
jewel
It takes a real comic genius, to play the perfect
fool.
I loved him when he told me, It's been 'A Hard Days
Night'
listening to his Richard the third, made everything
feel - alright.
I loved him for so many things, on record stage
and screen
I'll always remember Peter, he's the best theres
ever been.
When he died I lost a good friend, life is never
very fair
But most of all I loved him best, just for 'Being
There.'
THE
LOVE BALLAD OF
INSPECTOR CLOUSEAU
by Chris Lindsay
My
Love! My Darling!
Ah, yes, I am mad with you,
no, it is in fact,
I am mad without you.
You
are beautiful, wonderful,
like a brilliant tornado!
I have waited my entire life to hold you,
oh yes, you!
Ah, like a fragrant purple flower
in my fin-gairs.
ODE
TO CLOUSEAU
by Rori Stevens
Though
the slightest thing can trip you
Though the brightest clue can slip you
Cher ami, cher amour, I adore you.
Though
you are overconfident
Though to your goals you are hell-bent
Cher ami, cher amour, I adore you.
Though
those villains have confused you
Have evaded and abused you
Cher ami, cher amour, I adore you.
With
your mishaps accidental
It may seem quite incidental
That youre elegant and gentle
Towards the ladies youre protecting
As you soldier on suspecting
All and nothing...
Throughout
your days you never could
Let evil blithely conquer good
Cher ami, cher amour, I adore you.
Although
youre clumsy, I can see
Youre what a hero ought to be
Cher ami, cher amour, I adore you.
WHEN
PETER SMILES
by Nancy Sandoval
When
Peter smiles
it's like
a dozen suns dart
across his face
sudden and bright,
and leave behind
a merry twinkle
in his penny brown eyes.
When
Peter smiles
I smile too
for I know that
even briefly
something
was able to penetrate
the confusion
and the pain.
And I am so grateful.
SELLERS
Sarah Jane Timbs
Im
sure you once walked
and laughed
and breathed in this world
for all around is the essence of you
the image of you
with your sad dark eyes.
Im
sure you once loved
and hated
and cried here on the earth
for all around is the love of you
the pain of you
in the hearts of the old and young.
Im
sure you once believed
in your creations
your characters that lived through you
for all around is the legacy
the timelessness
of your brilliance.
But
that was many years ago
I doubt if anyone would know
why you wept and what was wrong
unhappy and alone too long.
Im sure you were once real
and human
and not just a personality
for all around the world is sighing
mourning you
and remembering your radiance.
INSPECTOR
CLOUSEAU CARTOONS
For
those of you who are fans of Looney Tunes and the
Pink Panther cartoons I highly recommend you also
check out the Inspector Clouseau animated shorts.
As far as I know they only made 24 episodes. There
is such great chemistry between Clouseau and Sargeant
Doo Doo. Pat Harrington Jr. does a fabulous job doing
the vocals for the Inspector. In fact, he sounds just
like Peter Sellers. The only way to buy these are
through Ebay on DVD-R. I hope they re-release them
on DVD one day. Doo Doo would make a great live action
character in a future feature film. He's just as funny
as Kato.
